Company Joins New Initiative for CBRS Products and Services
SAGINAW, MI, May 6, 2021 – After a thorough RFP review process, MiCTA has named RF Connect as an approved vendor for CBRS products and services available to all MiCTA members across the United States.
CBRS, which stands for Citizens Band Radio Service and is also sometimes referred to as OnGo™, has been described by telecommunications experts as a “gamechanger” and the “next big thing” in wireless connectivity for myriad industries including the education and healthcare sectors and more because it empowers virtually any organization regardless of size and location to use carrier-grade cellular frequencies without applying for an FCC license to set up their own wireless network and reap superior performance, reliability, security and cost benefits over WiFi.
For over 15 years, Farmington Hills-based RF Connect has been a trusted resource to design, deploy, manage and operate wireless communication networks inside buildings, across campuses and within communities. An early adopter of CBRS, the company offers a comprehensive portfolio of bundled solutions based on CBRS that can help MiCTA members gain both business and technology competitive advantages.
“CBRS is an ideal solution because these networks support nearly an infinite array of applications, services and use cases,” said Jeff Hipchen, Executive Vice President, at RF Connect. “From covering large spaces and providing high-bandwidth, to safeguarding sensitive information and supporting thousands of IoT sensors, while at the same time complementing existing Wi-Fi deployments, CBRS can’t be beat. We look forward to supporting the connectivity needs of MiCTA members.”
MiCTA’s Chief Executive Officer Tim von Hoff said, “MiCTA welcomes RF Connect as an approved national vendor of CBRS wireless services. Our members can benefit from the extensive experience that RF Connect has in the wireless communication field as it applies to CBRS spectrum based networks and equipment.”
